Know your risk

Heart is basically a muscle and we all know that muscles need to exercise in order to stay healthy. So if you want to improve heart health, the best way is to get your heart thumping with the sweat-inducing cardio exercise for at least 21/2 hour every week or 45 minutes at least 4 times a week. Cardio can be anything like swimming, running, jogging and dancing that can get your heart racing throughout the exercise. So just get up and get going.

Colorful means healthy! Sounds weird, but true! Veggies and fruits those are colorful, such as leafy greens, red tomatoes and lovely berries. You should be aiming at five servings of colorful fresh veggies and fruits daily and cut down on the beiges and browns like hamburgers and chicken fries. However, whole grains are an exception, because they are good for your heart even if they are beige.
The increased risk of heart disease is yet another reason why you should quit smoking right away. There are a lot of researches which suggest that women can drastically decrease the risk of heart disease, within about a year of quitting smoking regardless of their age. So it’s high time to quit smoking and improve your heart health.
There are many ways to check heart health like knowing your resting heart rate or getting a heart study done, in case your doctor suspects any problems. So get your heart health checked once a year to detect the problems.
Stress can create havoc to your heart. To improve heart health, find an effective, constructive way to deal with the stress of your life. Meditate, yoga, writing a journal, therapy, change of job or just about anything that’ll help you to cope up with the stress so that your heart isn’t affected.
