What causes clogged skin pores?

Dead Cells: Dead cells with sebum are the great cause of clogged pores. Dead cells can lead to whiteheads and blackheads as well. Due to dead cells and tissues your skin can’t breathe easily resulting in unsightly acne.

Pore Types: Actually sweat pores are the canal which causes due to the sweat glands on the surface of your skin. Some hair-producing follicles are present all over your body system. In some cases, these follicles are inactive. Further, the hair produced is light in color and very thin in size. For instance, the hair on a female’s face is practically invisible.

Sebaceous glands create sebum that is a fatty waxy element which works as a lubricant and plays important role in maintaining the health of skin. However, production of excess sebum is one of the most common reasons of clogged skin pores.

Dirt & Makeup: Dirt does not form blackheads but it may lead to clogged skin pores and cause other skin problems like blemishes. On the other side, female’s make-up is not much different from dust.

Perspiration and Sebum can work like magnet to attract dirt and dust small particles from the polluted air. When a person touches her/his face or neck, dirt on the hands is transferred to the neck and face. It causes blocked pores.

Inflammation: Inflammation means swelling. It is often the underlying reason of the blocked pores. Due to inflammation you can also feel itching, irritating and sting in your acne. A lot of things can lead to the inflammation including:

  • Stimulation of the hair-producing follicle
  • Hormonal activity
  • Excessive heat
  • Exposure to the elements
  • Irritating elements in skin care items
  • Over-cleansing

These are some causes of clogged skin pores. You must consult your skin expert if your acne problem is severe. Your doctor will prescribe you better ways to deal with the condition.
